What is the CAP Hospitality Initiative?
The CAP Hospitality Initiative is a strategic program launched by the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism to improve the country’s accommodation and tourism infrastructure. This initiative aims to improve the quality of service, modernize infrastructure and adopt sustainable practices within the hotel industry in Morocco. It includes comprehensive training programs for hotel staff, encouraging the adoption of best practices and advanced technologies to improve the guest experience.
What are the objectives of the CAP Hospitality Initiative?
The initiative has four main objectives, namely:
- Infrastructure improvement: The initiative focuses on the renovation and modernization of existing hotels and the development of new environmentally friendly accommodation options. This is part of Morocco’s broader strategy to align its accommodation with international standards.
- Financial support: The program offers financial assistance, including loans of up to 100 million dirhams, to finance the renovation of hotel infrastructure. The Moroccan government supports this project by covering the interests, aiming to modernize 25,000 rooms with an expected investment of 4 billion dirhams.
- Focus on sustainability: With a focus on sustainability, the initiative seeks to attract environmentally conscious travelers and position Morocco as a leader in sustainable tourism. Hotels must meet specific environmental standards and implement energy efficiency improvements.
