Sydney, Australia – SITEMINDER, an ASX 200 company and the main global hotel and hotel income platform has made two new appointments within its executive management team to capitalize on the opportunities opened by artificial intelligence (AI) and automatic learning for the global hotel industry.

One of the appointments concerns the siteminder co -founder, Mike Rogers, whose role will pass from the technology director to the data director to direct the global data strategy of the company and continue its data science capacity. Disruptor and twice CIO50, Mike has been a veteran of technology, after having pushed the limits of Cloud Computing since its first days and motivated innovation to considerably advance the technological capacities of the then unlimited hotel industry. It is under its technical leadership that SiteMinder was the pioneer of a software distribution platform as a service for hotels in 2006. The siteminder platform has since evolved to become the most adopted distribution and income distribution platform, used by more than 47,000 hotels in more than 150 countries to treat more than 125 million online reservations each year. In its new role, Mike will use the rich site of siteminder data to stimulate new innovations.

Another CIO50 twice, Tomas Varsavsky, will join SiteMinder as director of technology. Tom has more than 25 years of experience in technology, including 10 years at Rea Group, a real estate marketing company on ASX 100. As head of technology and data, Tom was responsible for the supply of technology and data platforms underlying the products, services and operations of REA’s. The other companies for which he worked or consulted include Catch, ThoughtWorks, Lonelyplanet, Insignia, Anz, National Australia Bank, CBU Super and Sensis & Ericsson. As CTO at SiteMinder, Tom will lead and constitute the High Performance Engineering team at SiteMinder, ensuring that it is on scale, leadership and skills to continue to provide siteminder processing products.

The two meetings arise at a pivotal time to siteminder, because the company transforms its technological battery into a “ intelligent platform ”, designed to introduce intelligence and automation capacities to the highly fragmented hotel industry. In 2023, SiteMinder also embarked on a new mission, to make the management of sophisticated income accessible at each hotel in the world, because industry is faced with the growing complexity of the travel sector.

“The meetings of Mike and Tom are a direct response to the convergence that we see in technology and data. In the end, we know that today, the most powerful technology in the world, including AI and automatic learning, is built on large amounts of data – which have supported siteminder to date, “explains Sankar Narayan, CEO and CEO of Simander. “Mike and Tom will bring together our engineering and data technology teams more closely, to unlock the potential to use one of our most unique and most important assets – our data, whose extent and depth are unequaled in our industry. Above all, they will open new opportunities for innovation and efficiency for hoteliers who have no time and expertise to stimulate these capacities, themselves. »»
